Giant tortillas for a giant burrito!

I grew up in SoCal, what in my opinion used to be THE best place for Mexican food. I mean, all the plates of whatever you order would come to you loaded with whatever entrée you chose, along with a huge helping of rice and beans and fresh pico and lettuce. Such yummy childhood memories!

Growing up with such amazing food, I thought this was the norm everywhere. Little did I know, that was not the case! I've been living in different states since and am more often than not very sorely disappointed either with portion size, taste or both. Just such a waste of money! Call me old, but it's so much better when I make it here at home.

So since I suck at making arguably the easiest tortillas to make and dissatisfied with the available options locally (too small and thick), I purchased these bad boys from the Internet!

I think they were a bit pricey, however, they are exactly what I needed! When I was young, there used to be a small taco stand down the street called Acosta Taco. They would make the bigggest, most delicious burritos! I used to get the carne asada and it came with rice, beans and pico inside! It was HUGE! But it was truly chef's kiss so delicious!

Because shipping was so pricey, I order a lot of different tortillas to get that free shipping. Let me tell you that so far, they've lived up to expectations! I made giant burritos fir dinner with roasted chicken leftovers, rice and beans and some of my homemade salsa - AMAZING! Then the next morning I sauteed up some eggs with onion, fresh jalapeño and chorizo. Smeared the tortilla with refried beans, added some queso fresco and a huge helping of the eggs. So good!

I wish I had a bigger comal or a blackstone to accommodate these behemoths! Regardless, they're great so far! Thank you, Tortilla Familia, for making the purchase of these possible. You've made my taste buds happy and my butt bigger.
